BioAriana Kelly is running for State Delegate in Maryland’s 16th district. Ariana is a third generation Bethesda resident, and a graduate of Walter Johnson High School. She and her husband, Barak, are raising two young children, Maeve (6) and Leo (3) in West Bethesda.
Ariana has spent her career fighting for families. She has more than ten years experience working in Annapolis and in Washington, DC, and a proven track record of successful leadership on issues that matter to Montgomery County.
Ariana directs the Environmental Health and Fair Pay programs for MomsRising.org, a million member grassroots organization committed to building a more family‐friendly country. Prior to joining MomsRising, Ariana was the Executive Director for NARAL Pro‐Choice Maryland, a statewide women’s health advocacy group. Ariana also served as Executive Producer of PBS’ To The Contrary, where she covered education, business, and health care issues. Her commitment to supporting healthy families began when she worked for Girls Inc., a national education and advocacy organization dedicated to empowering young people.
Ariana and her family are members of Tifereth Israel Congregation. Ariana is also active in numerous community groups, and enjoys volunteering at her children’s schools.
