Bio
Shane earned bachelors' degrees in Biology and Spanish at the University of Nevada, Reno, and then joined the Peace Corps shortly after 9-11, serving with his wife for three years as health volunteers in rural Zambia. While in Zambia, Shane worked extensively with neighborhood health committees to improve the quality of health care within his community. During his third year in the Peace Corps Shane worked at the district level in the health, environment, education, and agriculture sectors. While in Zambia Shane witnessed the power of what communities can achieve despite a lack of economic resources.After the Peace Corps Shane and his wife worked in Brazil, South Korea and Vermont before returning to Montgomery County. Currently Shane is a Senior Associate at Coulter Nonprofit Management, and works with clients involved in health, education, and smart urban development.
