Well, the holidays are
over
and hopefully everyone enjoyed them. Now
that we are at the beginning of a new year, an
important Presidential election
year, the Central Committee is gearing up for
the tasks at hand – to help
President Obama have the opportunity to
continue his vision on our behalf for 4
more years.
Even in these tough times,
and they are tough times for many folks,
President Obama continues to ask
Congress to be fair to the 99% of us who are
working hard and are seeing less
and less as a result. Not to mention all
of those who are still looking for a
job.
But the Republicans in
Congress continue to put their own political
goals ahead of the country’s best
interest.
Time and time again they
have just said “No” to whatever President
Obama
tries to do for working families and
children.
The Republicans in Congress
have openly stated, from their first days in
office, their “number one priority
is to make Obama a one-term
President.”
And their second and only
other priority is to continue looking out for
the rich and powerful, to the detriment of the
middle class and those who have
not reached middle class. And that’s 99%
of us!
The Central Committee will be
working with both state and federal Democratic
candidates throughout the year to
help them get elected. We will be
posting opportunities for you to meet
candidates as we become aware of them,
and we encourage you to get involved and
attend. We will also be conducting voter
registration
drives, phone calls, and other campaign efforts
on behalf of our Democratic
candidates.
President Obama needs more
concerned Democrats in both the House of
Representatives and the Senate to stop
the Republican roadblocks we have been enduring
for the last 2 years. Only through grass roots
action can we
accomplish our goals.
We really need your
help. President Obama needs your help. We cannot do this
alone. Pleased consider getting involved
early. Just let me know you are interested and we
will be in touch soon.
We also want to know
what you
are thinking. Please forward any ideas,
suggestions, news, etc. to me at wlsawyer@comcast.net
. If you request a response, I will
answer you as promptly as time will
allow.
